What makes Sea Island School different?
The Environment
In a multi-age classroom, students learn in a natural, family-like environment where excellence and achievement are encouraged, congratulated, and recognized.
The Method
Students are taught to learn independently, yielding efficient use of their time, and this allows for additional studies and hands-on learning.
The Curriculum
By learning independently students advance by mastery, and the curriculum can be adapted to their abilities and interests.
“For the sole true end of education is simply this: to teach men how to learn for themselves; and whatever instruction fails to do this is effort spent in vain.”
Dorothy Sayers
Author of The Lost Tools of Learning

Education at Sea Island School is

Students learn independently of one another and advance as they master their studies. Mastery is complete when you can teach what you have mastered to someone else.

Classical education passes on Western culture by examining the ideas and deeds, good and bad, of the great people who have gone before us, and it prepares students to take their place in history.

Christianity influences the study of all subjects.  Science is the study of God’s creation; history is God at work. The great ideas and deeds of the past are examined against the Bible.
